Why should you stage your home?
The way we live in our homes is very different from the way we market them for sale. It is not an easy task to ready yourself for the process of selling a home. It can be exhausting emotionally and often physically as well. Even when a house is priced right and in a great location there is competition for buyers. Staging a property gives a marketing edge and in a buyers market it is critical to stand out. My top recommendations are to do the things that have the highest emotional impact on a buyer. It's proven that people buy emotionally. In a home that is cluttered with personal items, it is difficult to see the space. People are distracted by what is in the house rather than seeing the house itself. Buyers don't want to feel like they are intruding on you when viewing your home. If the atmosphere is comfortable and nondescript they will spend more time viewing the house rather than rushing to get out of your way.
The goal of staging a property is to help it appeal to the highest number of buyers. This doesn't have to be a costly venture. More often than not, de-cluttering, repositioning furniture to create flow and depersonalizing can be enough. If a property requires other alterations like repairs and painting, or furniture rentals we will provide or source these services as well. In a competitive market it is important to be prepared from the beginning. It is a fact that most buyers take between three to six minutes to decide whether the house they are viewing is where they will spend the next part of their lives. There is not a minute to waste. More people come through a house in the first five to ten days of it being on the market than any other time. First impressions are vital.
